Similar to a Chief Operating Officer of a corporation (COO), the Deputy Director is responsible for overseeing all operations of the organization, primarily in the kitchen. The Deputy Director also coordinates marketing and outreach, working as a liaison between the Laramie Soup Kitchen and the Community.

Under the Deputy Director's guidance, the Kitchen Assistant coordinates operations of the kitchen and management of volunteers.

Food Recovery Specialist

Tom, Jake, & Joe

Responsible for the handling of nearly all food donations, Food Recovery Specialists pick up food every weekday from local businesses, sort & weigh it, and then redistribute food to as many as fifteen partner organizations, helping the Laramie Soup Kitchen respond to food insecurity on a much larger scale. 


AmeriCorps VISTA & Summer Associates

The Laramie Soup Kitchen is the host site for both year-long AmeriCorps VISTA and Summer Associates. THe year-long AmeriCorps works in the office on various capacity building projects. Summer Associates help in the kitchen and with other upkeep type tasks in direct service to the Laramie Soup Kitchen and during the months that consistent volunteers are often lacking.

Currently, the Board meets twice a month, once for a work session and once for a regular Board Meeting. Additionally, Board Members volunteer time in the kitchen, for fundraising events, and on special committees when needed.
