VOLUNTEER FAQs - COVID Edition
Are you allowing volunteers?
Yes! Volunteer opportunities are available now. Interested in becoming a volunteer? You will fill out a volunteer application and then you will be sent the sign up once your application is approved. *Note: COVID Vaccinations are required.
Are masks required?
In efforts to keep the Soup Kitchen open and our guests safe, masks are required for both volunteers and staff at this time.
What is the minimum age to volunteer?
Volunteers must be 14 years old to volunteer alone, or 12 years to volunteer with a parent or guardian. Each volunteer is required to have a volunteer application on file before signing up for shifts.
Can I bring a group?
Maybe, dependent on the size of the group. All members of the group must fill out their own volunteer application and members of the group must individually sign up for shifts. At this time, volunteer slots are extremely limited, so we may not be able to accommodate the entire group during a single shift. With larger groups we encourage individuals to instead pair up and sign up to volunteer that way.
Is there something else we can do to help?
We love that you are interested in helping! There are a few extra ways you (and your group) can assist during this time. Put together a food drive, sock drive, winter clothing drive, or write cards/letters for our clients. There are lots of things your group can do to put a smile on the face of our guests and support the work we do.
